Our Materials
Sterling Silver
Each Carao piece is individually handmade in 925 silver(with love)by expert silversmiths. 925 Sterling Silver is an alloy made of 92.5% pure Silver and 7.5% Copper.
Vermeil
Gold vermeil consists of a thick layer of gold which gives the pieces their long-lasting color. We use 18k gold layered on sterling silver.
Pearls
We use cultured freshwater pearls that we carefully select for craft all Carao pieces from our Pearl Collection.
Gemstones
All of our gemstones are lab-created. This means they are authentic gemstones but are human-made instead of mined from the earth.
Cut: if not stated in the product description, brilliant.
Clarity VVS, Type I: eye clean (minute inclusions difficult to see under 10X) for Garnet, Amatist, Aquamarine, Alexandrite, Ruby, Peridot, Saphire, Citrine, and Blue Zircon.
Clarity VVS, Type II: eye clean (minor inclusions difficult to see under 10X) for Moissanite.
Jewelry Care
Even materials as strong as sterling silver and gold vermeil deserve some love. Avoid direct contact with chemicals and alcohol found in perfume or other cosmetics and cleaning products.
Since both are H2O sensitive, avoid water when wearing your piece and never expose to thermal waters or ocean water. Always remove your vermeil jewelry before exercising.
